Stainless Steel 305 has 18–20% chromium, 8–10% nickel, and controlled percentages of manganese, silicon, and carbon. It has low carbon, which makes it resistant to precipitation of carbides while welding, thus making it very durable. Mechanically, it has tensile strength ranging from 515–700 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of approximately 40%, which makes it very formable. The alloy is also non-magnetic in annealed state, exhibiting excellent resistance to oxidation and pitting. Highly workable, it can be deep drawn and formed without sacrificing strength or stability.

The 305 stainless steel in hot rolled sheets is corrosion-resistant, strong, and versatile. These sheets are usually available in various thicknesses between 1.5mm and 25mm and up to 2000mm in width. Ideally, they find applications in heavy-duty sectors and structural elements.
