Stainless Steel 15-5 PH is a 15–17% chromium, 3–5% nickel, 3–5% copper precipitation-hardening martensitic alloy with minor additions of manganese, silicon, and titanium. Its composition provides it with excellent toughness and stress-corrosion cracking resistance. It has a tensile strength of 130–160 ksi (900–1100 MPa), a yield strength of approximately 90 ksi (620 MPa), and elongation of 12–15%. The alloy maintains its properties even at high temperatures, and its superior corrosion and oxidation resistance also make it a very dependable material in critical industrial processes involving both strength and weldability.
