Stainless Steel 348H Flanges consist of iron, chromium (18–20%), nickel (9–12%), and niobium stabilizers and are higher in carbon compared to type 348. This material provides improved resistance to intergranular corrosion and is very strong at high temperatures. The improvement in structural stability during heat treatment and welding is further achieved through titanium enrichment. Mechanical properties are a tensile strength of 515–690 MPa, yield strength of about 205 MPa, and elongation of 40% in 50 mm. The flanges also show superior oxidation resistance, creep strength, and durability and are very well-suited for demanding, high-temperature applications.
