Stainless Steel 348 Flanges are austenitic stainless steel 348 alloys that include iron, 9–12% nickel, and 18–20% chromium. They include columbium (niobium) as stabilization and have ten times less carbon compared to niobium additions. This makes them show improved resistance against intergranular corrosion and to ensure retention of strength at high temperatures. The flanges exhibit superior weldability, formability, and stability against oxidation and carburization. Mechanical properties are tensile strength between 515–690 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation in 50 mm of 40%.
