Stainless Steel 347H Flanges are a carbon-rich variant of the 347 grade designed to have superior strength at high temperatures. They contain iron, 17–19% chromium, 9–13% nickel, with columbium (niobium) and tantalum additions to make them more stable and resistant to corrosion. The stabilizing additions resist intergranular corrosion and carbide precipitation effectively. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of 515–700 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40–50%. With outstanding resistance to 900°C (1652°F), 347H flanges are well-suited for applications in high-stress, high-temperature conditions where both strength and toughness are needed.

Stainless Steel 347H Flanges find extensive application in processes involving resistance to corrosion and oxidation under severe conditions. They find special application in chemical plants, refineries, and power generation units where equipment needs to be withstood at high pressure and high temperature. Some common applications are in boilers, heat exchangers, reactors, and other process equipment handling aggressive chemicals and thermal cycling. The incorporation of columbium and tantalum gives durability and avoids intergranular corrosion, so these flanges are trustworthy even in harsh surroundings. Their resistance to temperature along with their durability and structural integrity leads them to be the most popular among petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries.
