Typically, stainless steel flanges are made of grades such as 304, 304L, 316, and 316L, containing chromium (18–20%) and nickel (8–12%) for corrosion resistance, along with trace amounts of carbon and molybdenum (in 316). Mechanically, they provide tensile strength from 485 to 620 MPa and yield strength approximately 170 to 310 MPa based on the grade. They have superior durability, weldability, and chemical resistance as well as high-temperature resistance.
