The 904L stainless steel coils consist of 19–23% chromium, 23–28% nickel, 4–5% molybdenum, and 1–2% copper along with low carbon content. Mechanically, 904L has tensile strength ranging from 490–710 MPa and a yield strength of approximately 220 MPa. The material also has high elongation, good formability, and excellent weldability.
