Stainless Steel 348/348H Forged Fittings are produced from a stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloy with a composition of 17–20% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and columbium (niobium), 348H having more carbon content for improved high-temperature tensile strength. The fittings have superior resistance to intergranular corrosion, oxidation, and creep. Common mechanical properties are tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and satisfactory ductility with elongation up to 35%. The stability of the alloy under thermal stress and the capacity to retain mechanical integrity in severe conditions make it suitable for applications involving high performance.
