316H Forged Fittings of stainless steel are manufactured from a high-carbon variant of 316 stainless steel with 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. The increased carbon content provides strength as well as creep resistance at high temperatures. These forged fittings have superior mechanical properties, such as a tensile strength of around 515 MPa and good yield strength, and also superior corrosion resistance. The fittings are resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, and intergranular attack, particularly in chloride-bearing and acidic solutions. The material also sustains superior weldability and toughness under severe thermal stress.
