Stainless Steel 309S bars contain about 22–24% chromium and 12–15% nickel, along with low carbon to improve weldability and reduce carbide precipitation during welding. The bars provide good tensile strength (about 515 MPa), satisfactory ductility, and excellent oxidation and scaling resistance up to 1000°C.
