Stainless Steel XM19 Bars are manufactured from a nitrogen-strengthened austenitic alloy containing high concentrations of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, and nitrogen. The composition provides substantially greater strength than 316 and 304 stainless steels, with tensile strength well in excess of 690 MPa and yield strength in excess of 380 MPa. The bars are also very ductile, typically elongating more than 30%, and retain impact toughness even at sub-zero temperatures. Distinguished by excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, XM19 bars are characterized by non-magnetic properties in annealed state and are best suited for severe mechanical and corrosive conditions.
